Merry Christmas!

What a wonderful Christmas Day spent at home! My parents came over first thing in the morning so they wouldn’t miss any of the magic. Despite the rough finances this year, we all managed to get each other some nice gifts. We spent the day playing with our loot, eating tasty food, and enjoying each other.

Little Chef

I was making an apple pie and didn’t pay attention when Kristian was taking the leftover stuff. Then he showed me his creation! He pressed out some pie crust, put apples and caramels on top, and sprinkled with cinnamon! He even cut the apples using one of his plastic knives!

Marley is crawling! She has the cutest first Thanksgiving shirt that shows baby food turkey, green beans, and sweet potatoes. Too bad she wouldn’t stay still long enough for a picture!

Corn Maze

We promised the kids we would go to a corn maze this year, and well, time just got away from us. We ended up there on the last day it was open, the day after Halloween. It happened to be the worst weather in weeks, raining and yucky! We didn't care, we trekked through the mud and goo anyway and had a blast!

Happy Halloween!

Rockin' the drums at Trunk or Treat

Yum! Cotton Candy!

kris had to work this year and couldn't join us, but we visited him at the hospital and showed off the kids' costumes. Then it was off to Trunk or Treat. The weather was so warm! We bundled up, but didn't even need coats the whole night. I wish every Halloween was that warm. Anyway, the kids enjoyed playing in the maze and on the slides. They didn't care too much to play the games and get candy, but that's ok, we don't need it around anyway!

Halloween Crafts

While we were in Twin for Grandpa Duggan's birthday, Kris' cousins Christal and Chloe did some crafts with the boys. It was so cute and super nice of them! They had the stuff all cut out and ready to put together, and even had candy for the jars. They even filled one of the jars with cheerios for Marley! I wish they lived closer, they would be great babysitters!

How to take care of a Library book

Josiah got to check out his first book from the school library this week. He was totally excited! This is how you take care of a library book (in his own words)

1. Don't leave it outside
2. Don't put it down where pets and babies can get them
3. Don't eat while you are reading your book
4. Turn the pages by the tip

Needless to say, I am impressed!

Aggravation!

Kris and I love to play board games together, and so we thought we would try and see if the boys were ready to join us. With it so yucky and stormy outside, it was the perfect evening to try it. So we popped some popcorn and set up Aggravation. We were so glad to find that the boys did awesome with it! We didn't even have to help them move their pieces. I am so excited for all the family game nights we have to look forward to now!

Of course we had to take a break for the boys to play in the snow (in october?!?)

Marley even got to participate! She loved sitting up at the table with us!

Happy Birthday Kris!

On Monday we celebrated Kris' 31st birthday with a fun evening at home. My parents came over for fish, shrimp, and french fries (per Kris' request). We also invited Trevor to join us. It was a great night of yummy food and relaxing. We were really excited that my dad was able to join us. He was out driving, and we were sure he would not make it home. It was a nice surprise for him to be here. Trevor and Kris stayed up until something like 2:30 playing xbox. I feel bad though, Trevor got called in to work at 5 am! Poor guy!

I couldn't resist snapping a few pics of the kids the other night. Can you guess who the ham in the family is?
